When it comes to supporting your dog with reactivity, it can feel like an overwhelming minefield of conflicting advice. So we like to keep things simple, accessible, fun and most importantly, successful!

Every dog is different, from their genetics to their motivations, their experiences to training, health to diet and more, all impact the causes and also the routes out of reactivity.

However, you are a big part of it too! We need to ensure you have the confidence, knowledge, skills and support to navigate and enjoy the journey.

So here at Great Paws we have put together a selection of services which can be taken on their own or for bigger benefits, used in combination to help you achieve real progress and a life best suited to you and your canine companion!

This is no ordinary dog training class
it's the first step (or the next step) on a journey toward a calmer, more confident life for both you and your reactive dog! Designed for newcomers and seasoned handlers alike, "Reactive Rehab" offers a structured, four-week program that you can repeat to keep growing those confidence-building skills. So grab your lead (and maybe a snack for you and your dog), and let’s break it down:

Week 1: Let’s Get Into the Mindset (Theory Week at Great Paws HQ)

No dogs this week—just you and a crew of like-minded people learning what reactivity is, why it happens, and how to start transforming those knee-jerk reactions into calm, controlled behaviors. Think of it as "Reactive Rehab" orientation, where we map out the road to success! This is a supportive atmosphere where we can share experiences and help each other push towards our goals.

Week 2: The Real World Roll-Out (Public Location Assessment/Review)

It's game day! With your trainer’s guidance, you’ll meet in a real-world setting to observe your dog’s reactions and pinpoint which areas need the most focus. Whether it’s being around other dogs, dealing with people, or noisy places, this week will give us the inside scoop on your dogs triggers.

Week 3: Skill Drill & Thrill (HQ Skill Building)

Back at HQ, it’s time to work on those reactivity-busting basics! We’ll build up core skills like focus, relaxation, and managing triggers in a controlled setting, so you and your dog have the skills to keep working on to ultimately equip you for anything the outside world throws your way.

Week 4: Skill Booster: The Real World Revisited (Public Location)

Let’s test your new skills in the real world once more! You’ll see just how far you’ve come in four weeks, boosting both you and your dog’s confidence as you work on reactive moments in a safe, controlled way with your trainer right by your side.

Why You'll Love "Reactive Rehab

With weekly, one-hour sessions, this flexible program can be repeated to keep adding new tools to your reactivity toolbox.

Join as many four-week courses as you like, and keep moving toward a calm, connected, and confident relationship with your dog!

Sign up for Reactive Rehab, and let’s take on the world one calm, cool, and collected walk at a time! 🐾
