The Great Paws Day Train Academy provides you with a special full day service designed to give your dog a unique 1:1 experience that targets all of their needs and wants whilst providing you with a helping hand with your training goals!
There is nothing quite like the Day Train Academy in our area that I have found, so to help you understand it a little more, think of it like Doggy Day Care – however rather than multiple dogs sharing a space running around, your dog has their own space and lots of 1:1 time with a focus on Training, enrichment, wellbeing and fitness. Don’t worry though, if social training is needed or they love to be social, we will carefully introduce them to well matched friends!
So you get a full day service for your dog with a training focus. All designed by an award winning trainer!

Who Is it for?
- Anyone who wants to enhance their dogs life and progress their training
- Those with a dog who are often excluded from standard services like group dog walks, classes, day care etc. due to them not being comfortable around other dogs - The Day Train Academy is designed to be a "reactive" dog safe space
- People looking to add more variety into their dogs life and experiences
- Pooch parents who have hit a ceiling with some training and want extra help to progress
- Those with entire male dogs who cannot attend other services due to this
What's Included
- Practical drop off and pick up times. Drop off is between 08:00 and 09:30 and pick up is between 16:00 and 18:00
- A full balanced day itinerary of exciting sessions for your dog including:
- Training

- Fitness
- Social Learning
- Mental Enrichment
- Decompression & Rest
- Companion & cuddle time
- We work on a strict 1:8 ratio of Great Paws team member to dogs, this ensures your dog has the best care, training and support possible throughout the day.
- Training is focused on those life skills we all often want and need, e.g. Lead walking, recall, settle, drop, leave, sit/wait etc. Additional specialist services can also be booked and your needs will discussed these during the induction.
- Individual training file for your dog which will be reviewed periodically to ensure we maximise learning
- Mini Training Videos - the training sessions will have sections filmed with instructions and sent to you for you to enjoy and continue your training at home
- Your own file to access videos and pictures
Academy Facilities
We are always evolving and changing the facilities to ensure your dogs learning environment is fresh and exciting, here are some of the existing and soon to be available facilities.
- 2580 square foot astro training floor
- Individual insulated day room for each dog with comfortable safe furnishings and additional air flow and heating facilities to make it extra comfortable no matter the weather. These are used between training sessions for your dog to relax
- Outdoor adventure area with a variety of physical and mental enrichment installations
- Designated Scent Training area developed with the support of the UK College Of Scent Detection (coming in 2024)
- Drive In Facility for safe pick up and drop off
- Bespoke training shop stocked with the highest quality training reward, toys and equipment
- Kitchen facilities for safe food and reward storage and preperation
Prices
- The base full day rate is £32 and includes their full day at the Academy and those things outlined above in the "What's Included" section
- To support your dogs introduction to the Day Train Academy, after your FREE induction you will get a discount code for your first two bookings which will save you a massive 20%!
- If you purchase a 10 day block book package, this reduces your day rate to £29.50. The 10 days can then be booked in as you wish (they do not have to be concurrent days)
- If you have two dogs who are comfortable sharing the same day room, then you will get a discount for a 2 dog booking
- Half day options are also available
How to book?
- We ask you to complete some steps to enable you to join us at the DTA
First, you will complete a booking form to provide us information about your dog and log your details on our system.
As soon as you complete this, you will get access to our Online Induction where you can watch the video and read the supporting documents.
If you like what the DTA is and want to join, complete a Training Form for your dog so we know what we can support you with and we will then email you with the booking information for you to book in your trial days (within 72 hours)!
