Progress Paws is your next step in taking the skills you learnt during the Puppy or Foundations Paws class and evolving them to become more dependable.

We look at how we can sustain these skills for longer and make them more dependable around distractions. This course is focused on helping you understand the process, challenges and fun you can have building bombproof reliable skills with your pooch!

Not only this, we change up where we teach, using both the Great Paws Venue and public spaces so you can practice where it matters!

You can work towards your Medals and Bolt On Rosettes!

We know fitting in dog training classes around life can be a challenge. Also we encourage training to become part of everyday life, so we do the Progress Paws a little different to the Puppy or Foundation Paws class.

Rather than a solid block of classes, we move to a Pay As You Train model.
So you just book onto a class when it suit you.

We run classes at the Great Paws venue and also out in public spaces, giving you the flexibility to learn and practice in a whole host of environments.

This ensures you can get the help you need when you need it as you work towards your Bronze, Silver or Gold awards or your Bolt On Rosettes.

Please note - you must have completed either a Puppy Paws or Foundation Paws course before booking onto a Progress Paws class.

Book your first Progress Paws class at the Great Paws venue.

On your first class we can discuss if you want to do a Medal or Bolt On course (or mix up with both) and then we can get you on your way!

Medals

Your first step after completing either the Puppy Paws or Foundation Paws course.

Here we will give you some very specific goals to work towards and support you to achieve them and teach you how to troubleshoot when things don’t go to plan.

You will work on enhancing your focus, calmness, lead skills, recall, settle, leave, and body language. We will also build knowledge on responsible canine care.

Your next step after completing the Bronze Paws award.

Your goals for Silver will build on those from Bronze but increase the distractions utilizing public spaces.

You will step up your skills of focus, calmness, lead skills, recall, settle, leave, and body language whilst learning some new skills and enhancing your responsible canine care knowledge.

Your final step after completing the Silver Paws award.

Gold is all about demonstrating that you and your dog truly understand each other and can execute your skills regardless of distractions.

With your enhances knowledge and kills you be a role model for responsible human and canine relationships and demonstrate how to really enjoy life together.

Bolt On Rosette

Providing your dog with freedom comes with the trust they will return when you call, so recall is a crucial skill.

Working on core skills including 2 types of recall, enhancing speed and drive, distractions, long line handling, play and more, you will. have the chance to demonstrate success in a number of challenges to earn your rosette!

Confidence is one of the core foundations to achieving many of the goals you will have for life together.

Learning about body language and supporting your dog, you will look to enhance their body awareness, teamwork skills, and resiliency and set opportunities to overcome physical, mental, and audio challenges to earn your rosette.

Lead work can be one of the hardest challenges for some dogs, it goes against so many natural instincts, so our Bolt On is here to help.

Enhancing your engagement, sharpening handling skills, learning more lead games and building success around distractions is all part of process to work to earning your rosette.

So many behaviour issues come from your inability to meet our dogs needs and work their brains and bodies properly. Sometimes we even just want to have some fun with our canine companion.

So why not enhance your dogs ability with some new fun yet functional tricks which you can use to enjoy life together and bolster your life skill training.

Muddy paws, grass seeds, ticks, brushing, nail clipping, teeth care, these should be easy and enjoyable, not a chore and wrestling match.

We will look to enhance your knowledge about your dogs body language, build trust in co-operative care, remove worry from kit used for grooming and more so you can demonstrate the skills and earn your rosette.

Regardless if your dog loves or hates the vets, arming them with the skills to manage and be the perfect patient is crucial for life long vet care.

Build your dogs calmness in waiting, comfort with stranger, handle and support with invasive checks, easy weighing, and have the ability to deal with aspects of longer vet visits include crate comfort, muzzles and the “cone of shame” to earn your rosette.
